Klong Mudong is one of Phuket's mangrove forests and you will almost forget that you are in Phuket when you get there. The mangrove forests are rich in wildlife and several Black Crab farms used to be close by but I am not sure if they are still operating. This is a popular place for charity meetings to replant the area with new mangrove trees and has become a tourist attraction in itself.
So on a recent visit to Kao Khad Viewpoint I was rather shocked to see that in amongst the mangrove forest JCBs were working around what is presumably a new sports field, (that may just be part of the Baan Panwa Spa I am not sure) so I wonder just how long before the mangroves disappear completely.
