Jui Dtui Shrine (ศาลเจ้าจุ้ยตุ่ย)

Jui Dtui Shrine (ศาลเจ้าจุ้ยตุ่ย) is probably Phuket's most famous Chinese Temple or Shrine. originally located in Soi Rommanee (know then as Soi Angahlai until a fire broke out. The people moved the Sacred Flame to Put Jor Shrine, until the neighbouring landowner donated the land next to Put Jor Shrine and the Jui Dtui Shrine was erected. At that time it was a simple building with a straw roof but as the Vegetarian Festival became bigger the shrine was developed over the years and in 2003 the Jui Dtui Foundation (Mulinity Jui Dtui Dtao Bo Geng) was erected.

เดิมศาลเจ้าจุ้ยตุ่ยเต้าโบ้เก้ง ตั้งอยู่ที่ซอยอ่างอ่าหล่าย (ซอยรมณีย์) ต่อมาได้เกิดไฟไหม้บริเวณบ้านเรือนลามมายังบริเวณศาลเจ้า ชาวบ้านจึงได้อัญเชิญเฮี้ยวโห้ย (ไฟศักดิ์สิทธิ์) มาฝากไว้ที่ศาลเจ้าปุดจ้อ และเมื่อถึงประเพณีกินผักก็ได้อัญเชิญมายังศาลเจ้าชั่วคราว ที่ชาวบ้านสร้างขึ้น ณ สวนพลูข้างศาลเจ้าปุดจ้อ ต่อมาเจ้าของสวนพลูได้ถวายที่ให้กับ "พระกิ้วอ่องไต่เต" ่สร้างเป็นศาลเจ้าจุ้ยตุ่ยเต้าโบ้เก้ง ซึ่งหลังแรกเป็นเรือนหลังคามุงจากต่อมา ชาวบ้านได้มาร่วมพิธีกินผักมากขึ้นจึงได้มีการพัฒนาศาลเจ้าเรื่อยมาตราบจนถึงปัจจุบัน จึงได้มีการก่อตั้ง "มูลนิธิจุ้ยตุ่ยเต้าโบ้เก้ง" เมื่อวันที่ 19 พฤษภาคม 2546

The Shrine is probably best know for it's role in the Phuket Vegetarian Festival with what is the largest of the processions and it's central role in the farewell night when the Gods are sent back to heaven. 

The street outside the temple turns into a market place for vegetarian food and  symbolic white clothing is warn by all the Phuket devotees.
