Firecrackers are everywhere!
The Shrine becomes a lively place as people go to pay there respects to the Gods.
Someone has to clean up the firecracker remnants!
The chairs used to carry the Gods around town were lined up ready for the procession to take place the following morning.
For a small donation you can take a pack of incense sticks - just the right amount to worship all the Gods. Nearby was a diagram of the layout of the alters, each of which has a number. Just follow the numbers clockwise (left to right), someone will point you in the right direction if you get lost!
The people at Bang Niow Shrine were very helpful and explained to tourists and locals the order in which to pay your respects. First step to light the candles and incense sticks in the special flame provided, Second step was out to the courtyard to worship the Gods at the Koh Teng Pole, before continuing around the various alters.
